Meet our new Telemarketer !
Hi folks!
My name is Louis-David, I’m 20 years old, from Vancouver, BC. I’m a telemarketer at Bizbiz and I’ve been working here since September of last year but left in March to go back home due to the whole pandemic thing. Two weeks ago was my first day back since, and I’m stoked to be back at it.
I’m currently studying at HEC Montréal and in my second year of B.A.A.
Here’s the thing, I love it, and I know it will eventually help me out in life, but I often struggle to comprehend what the use of my classes are. I wonder how they truly apply to the real world, what are all these numbers and theories, do they actually work?? When I first started working here, that connection was finally made.
Wow.
This is the real world.
This is how things are done.
The collaborations, the brain storming, and where all ideas are treated equal. Not all days are amazing, and that’s to be expected, but when they are, they’re memorable. Seeing a start up grow into a big company is quite the sight to behold, and has renewed my drive to finish my degree. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, a light that is turning ever so slowly into something tangible.
Being a telemarketer was not something I had any prior experience in. When I was first started I was so stressed, stumbling through every word on my calls, it’s a miracle they even understood what I was saying. But as some of my favourite Youtubers, Yes theory, always say; “Seek discomfort”, and I try to live by those words every single day. Because it’s by seeking discomfort that you are able to find who you really are, and what you are truly capable of. Nowadays, I’m still stressed while making calls, don’t get me wrong, but it’s with a whole lot more confidence than when I first started on that fateful day in September of 2019.
Here’s my advice to whomever may be reading this. How about you start seeking some discomfort, do something you’ve never done before (like signing up to an online marketplace that’s… Ahem… maybe called Bizbiz…? 😉 ), and if you do something cool, make sure to share it with us, I’d love to see it. 🙂
