Light House and Vancity announce their partnership, offering Vancity business members additional benefits when using BizBiz BC.
VANCOUVER, APRIL 22, 2021
Light House and Vancity are proud to announce today a partnership aimed at offering all Vancity members the benefits of the sharing economy on the BizBiz BC online resource marketplace. Vancity members now have access to a tool that brings value to their underutilized resources and have easy access to resources as needed. Members who use the platform will enjoy the following benefits:
• Reduce the risk of financing on equipment and inventories – allow pooling and sharing of resources.
• Optimize underutilized resources to generate additional income.
• Access resources as needed to avoid high value purchases for sporadic uses.
• Strengthen the relationship between Vancity member businesses through exchanging resources.
In terms of ecological impact, BizBiz BC encourages the reuse and optimization of materials and natural resources. This aligns with Vancity’s support for “lighter living” business practices (that is, a more sustainable and balanced lifestyle) as well as their commitment to a clean and fair economy. “BizBiz BC’s online platform is helping to build a circular economy in British Columbia by making it easy for businesses to connect, share resources and reduce waste. Vancity is delighted to support this type of sustainable economic development, and to invite our members to take part in this initiative with us.”, underlines Krista Loewen, Associate Community Investment at Vancity.
THE SHARING ECONOMY AT THE HEART OF THE PROJECT The sharing economy is increasingly defining the economic landscape, in all sectors. Better use of equipment, space, or inventory that is underutilized represents an opportunity for companies to collaborate and optimize their operations while minimizing their environmental impact. Vancity is supporting their business members to join BizBiz BC and benefit from the advantages of the platform.
